I am interested in having a complete authentic Japanese Diet because I just love how healthy/practical the diet can be.

What are the most basic ingredients to start me off? I know about Tempura flour, use of various seafood, pickled ginger, short-grain sticky rice, dashi, wake, nori, noodles, fermented soybeans, other soybean products such as tofu, sesame seeds and oil, cooking sake...

What else would I need to have a well-rounded yet basic Japanese diet. I want to go to my local Asian market and pick up some things to start me off. What should I get?
