Are you guys really trusting an East European programmer who distributes his [closed] source software via pay-per-click links? This is the same guy who publicly stated there would be "consequences" for users who don't agree to his terms of use.

Does all of this not make any bells go off in your heads? Compare this shady East European hacker with a trust worthy American programmer who publishes his [open] source software on mediafire. Seriously, you guys are fucking idiots. It would be trivial to hide malicious code in an installer like that.
