i've played quite a few and no, no trouble, games are generally easier than VNs in terms of language and don't require anything like listening skills like watching anime might
games were in fact the first medium where i essentially stopped looking anything up because things i didn't know were so rare

of course this depends on the game somewhat, there might be place/person names or whatever i might not be able to spontaneously read if i play nioh or something

but the average game is quite easy
