She's a spinning wheel that has been left in disuse for so long that she decided that there's some thread to be spun and if anyone else isn't doing it, then she'll do it herself. She hasn't gotten the hang of having a human form just quite yet, so her lower half is still very much a spinning wheel (she can turn the wooden wheel into bone and the spokes into femora to make herself seem "more human", but that sort of creeps out her customers). She's content with it because it makes her job easier, otherwise she'd have to use another spinning wheel to perform her task and that would be just silly.

Her clothes are in drab shades because she used to be part of an old lady's house and any item left for more than three days in an old lady's house will lose all bright colors and constantly smell of cats. She has a drill on the tip of her ponytail because that's the sensible hairstyle to have when your lower half is a giant spinning wheel in constant motion. Like most spinning wheels, her ability is to spin thread, she works as a tailor's apprentice.

Her ribbon is given to her by the tailor girl she works under and she has treasured it ever since. Some nights she thinks about her master and feels a weird tightening in her chest, but she chalks it up to a result of her newly acquired human physiology clashing with the fact that she's still half giant spinning wheel.

I'll be damned, that's a lot of silly background for some poorly drawn "imitate ZUN teaches drawing.jpg" thread character.
