Higurashi has a pool episode but it was at least amusing. Higurashi's fanservice isn't boring/forced like Umineko's.

That doesn't make underdeveloped characters okay. When you have a cast with great characters like Eva, George, Kyrie, Battler, who are very fleshed out. You can't just have some people in those group that are undeveloped. The end result is like the author forgot/didn't plan the story correctly.

Also, Umineko's themes are garbage anyway. Truth is your truth. Deceive yourself to be happy. All the chessboard intellectual talk was all bullshit trying to be deep.
