What is the NEET or hikikomori life style like in your country?

What country are you from and is your countrys' in a state where our life style can thrive with no imitate threate?

I live in America. I have no imitate threate to my way of life.
You are seen as a freakish loser and "creeper" if you are a NEET or hikikomori.
I live actively with a job, go to a big university, but am always living as an Otaku in secret in the dorm and buying/playing/reading/listeni to /jp/ related shit.
I anyone found out my entire lifting, popularity, and dating life would be flushed down the tubes.
