Collecting figures was my gateway drug, at some point figures just weren't enough and I wanted a bigger and more personal thing. I enjoyed photography so dolls were the perfect outlet for that.

I got my first doll in 2013 but I remember being aware of BJDs from around 2005-2007 when I started watching anime and became a weeb. Probably saw them in a Japanese magazine or something. I remember hating anime-style BJDs like DDs back then and swearing I was never gonna get one, but that's because I was pretentious chuuni-edgelord who thought owning a cute anime-styled doll was stupid, and lifelike resin dolls were the shit. Times sure change.
