No need to bring pic related into fiction. If you tell a story, and want it to be good, having an asshole being an asshole for no reason and getting away with it is about as great storytelling as letting the main villain randomly fall down some stairs and break their neck which collapses the evil society while the heroes are still bashing heads with random mugs.
Why write a story if the reader could just read the newspaper? Or go on the street? Well, eroge are minor exceptions, as there's always the "because ero!" answer, but I'm sure there are plenty of nukige with asshole heroines who remain assholes anyway... so yeah.
