I wonder about the pedestrian nature of those episode-end frames. All of them seem to depict Mattoi as a slightly strange, fun-loving girl averse to socialization but longing for its benefits. Also, in an apparently non-stylized and ordinary world.

Maybe the ~twist ending~ will be that she's a normal person living in a normal world who imagined the supernatural aspects of her life as a form of escapism, although the writer(s) would have to be real assholes to do something that brazenly cliche.
