I thought that you are talking about a drama "SHOGUN". In the drama, Toranaga was modeled after Tokugawa Ieyasu, and Anjin was modeled after English William Adams(Japanese name:三浦按針).
In historical fact, Ieyasu became Seitaishogun(shogun). But Oda Nubunaga never became it because he was killed by a rebellion just before unification of the whole country.
Ieyasu engaged Adams and Dutchman Jan Joosten van Loodensteyn as a as a diplomatic adviser, and Nubunaga engaged African Yasuke as a bodyguard.
In Japanese history, foreign samurai are only these three people.
