Never used desktop icons since finding a nice collapsible dock thingy feels a lot more organized and clean.

Though desu I don't even use that very much easier. The real protip is just to create a folder like C:\Shortcuts, dump all your shortcuts in there, then add it to the Windows path. Now you can just hit Win+R and type the name of whatever to open it right away. If you enable autocomplete you can usually just type the first 2-3 letters actually... Also got AHK to pass through anything you type on the desktop into the run box automatically so the win+R step becomes optional as well.
