Why would I want to go into the sky? I can't collect the air, nor can I harness lightning, or anything useful.

Nor does moving over water mean anything, that's not convenient since flying is basically the same.

Nay I say, a Wurm can strike the Earth, she can find the greatest riches, the strongest artifacts, the best loot. Why traverse the land from one point to another by flying over it and losing speed when one can go from point A to point B directly through terra firma?

Why circle the Earth in a flying contraption over 40 days when we can dig from one side to the other in vastly less time?
