Co;Eternal by IZMIZM is my absolute favourite among everything I've heard ever, Touhou rearranges or not, and I'm a metalhead on regular music side!
Just the way the album is constructed just blows my head away:
The first two tracks you're just chillin' at some relaxed D&B with acoustic guitar, then comes chillingly beautiful piano-only Hakutaku Humanity with rising tempo which culminates without a pause into super high-speed Love Shooter, after which you get a true treat with perfectly balanced Ego Trip that just kicks your kidneys to throat and leaves you breathless.
That one is followed with with Invisible Nightmare setting mood for some serious break-beat drumming and culminates into Beautiful Voyage, once again an awesome masterpiece so ethereal I get suicidal at this point. Then comes two tracks not so memorable but whole album then culminates into Co;Eternal which leaves me a bit dizzy.


From Touhou metal genre, I'd say there's no contest to that one in picture. Goddamn, just listen to Eye of the Needles! Need to say more? No.

Mine is definitely "闡提宗祀 ～ Offering to The Sukhavati" by Demetori. It's AFAIK IMHO the best instrumental metal remix album, containing 100% awesome, precise, melodic and fast guitar playing, hard drums and even stays true to original melodies arrange-wise. Comparison to Children of Bodom is not overstatement.

"天狗が見ている ～ Eye of the Needles" from the album truly earns status of technically best performed Touhou metal remix ever, while "天空のグリニッジ ～ Deep P Sky" offers some of the heaviest riffs in scene.
