If their intention were to complete copy the Prince of Wales' uniform, then I would agree they completely screwed up every minor detail.

But what we have is the ship, HMS Prince of Wales, named after the Prince of Wales but not the Prince of Wales and therefore has not earned the same decoration nor awards of said person making it illegal to depict them (hence no medals).

Furthermore, inder the Trade Marks Act of 1994 in UK, it's basically illegal to register any trademarks or intellectual property that could mistakenly inferred to have been granted the royal permission to use such the insignia and emblems of the Royal family.

I doubt that a bunch of Chinese making their own mobage will be able to or want to get into a legal dispute with the Royal family so there are limitations to how closely they can copy his uniform. It's basic commercial design to make it close enough to the real thing to immediately evoke the idea, but not too close to leave you wiggle room to call it a homage.
