Not sure if this is the right place to be posting this; But I need a bit of advice.

I have a good friend who is living in Tokyo and is in some food troubles.... I am going to send him a package with some simple-to-make foods.. The only thing is I'm scared of sending him our simple American foods only for it to taste like utter shit to his native tastebuds~ I have heard stories before of Japanese people visiting America and absolutely hating our foods because of how different or fatty it is.. I don't want to send him something he will hate.

So basically, what things can I send him that he and his family will like? We already talked about sending packaged ramen, but does anyone out there know if our ramen is made differently than their package ramen? Will it taste bad?

I was also going to send him a few snacks since he stays up late and always wants something to eat but... Same problem lol. Our snacks tend to be too much for Japanese tastes.

Any help?

God damn I hate Ramen. But I still eat it because it costs 10 cents a bag and I'm a fucking poor as hell college student.

How the hell do you guys eat this crap? Is there something you add to it so it's not just a bowl of slimy salty noodles? Also, fuck the stuff in a cup that comes with the dehydrated peas and carrots, that's even worse. And I'm sure as hell not heading out to buy "real" ramen with the whole lot of extra bits in it, and spiral thingers. That's just spending more money on still awful noodles.
