This is obviously the intention on r07's part, especially when you stack on the feathers you see falling when the gauntlet user's shields are hit. Also, in Egyptian mythology, the heron (similar to the stork) god was involved in the creation of the world and is associated with rebirth. Possible Seshat connection.

Some random facts with potential relevenace:
The Oriental stork (Ciconia boyciana) is a solitary bird except during the breeding season.
It is now extinct in Japan and the Korean peninsula. However, in May 2007 a hatchling was reported in Japan for the first time in 40 years in the wild.
Because of their migratory nature of flying south in the fall and returning nine months later, they're associated with birth all over the world (even in south america before they had contact with the west).
Storks prey on snakes. In greek mythology, Hera turned Antigone's hair into stakes, but another god felt bad for her and turned her into a stork. You also have a Christian theme of the stork attacking the devil (as a snake).
