Yeah, but how many songs are there in Kancolle really? Even if circles pump out remixes for whatever is in its soundtrack right now, I doubt it'd last. The Kancolle music lineup is nowhere near numerous or interesting enough for them to do so without being EXTREMELY creative. Otherwise, you can arguably bet there might be an influx of albums that could be as bland as the original.

Not that there aren't any circles that are not capable of being creative enough to do turn a bland song into something interesting, mind you. However, I find it difficult to believe most circles would attempt to make a Kancolle remix track without really forcing themselves to do so. It doesn't seem captivating enough for most circles to sink their teeth into.

The circles' preference for songs like Necrofantasia boils down to the same reason why some circles are bothering to do Kancolle albums: Popularity.

Songs like Necrofantasia may have a bunch of rehashes, but at least the Touhou series has a couple hundred other underrated high-quality tracks to choose from if they get bored with remixing the really well-known ones. Pic related.
