Speaking of death, I don't smoke but guess Komachi would be pretty interesting listening in to while high. Would be one of few ways to tell if she can even say anything that doesn't relate to death or suicide.

Now, there's something I never quite understood.
Komachi is a shinigami, ie. a Japanese adaptation of the Western embodiment of death. So per that definition, she should be out collecting the souls of the dead, and not hanging out in the afterlife. But she doesn't - all she does is ferry souls across the Sanzu no Kawa. Supposedly when people die, they just appear on the shore or something...

TL;DR - the afterlife doesn't make sense.

Perhaps. If surfing has to be involved, ideally I'd be surfing through Valhalla standing upon the back of a pink, white-flamed Flanker, before tubing straight through the coil of Jormungand arisen and into the mouth of Hel.

But if surfing is not compulsory, I'd prefer a much more modest approach.
