>Rika/Hanyuu not following Takano in Higurashi even after knowing her death was consistent
i've seen this so many times but i'll bite since i've got a few minutes with nothing better to do

i feel like it's easy to fixate on that if you don't consider the amount of variables/constants she had to keep track of. we were not shown 100% of her entire past, what if she did follow her at some point but ended up forgetting it like what happened with minagoroshi? and what if us being shown her forgetting events in mina was supposed to be the answer to this? i don't consider higurashi to be perfect, but i just find this thing in particular to be an issue

i feel like the whole story gives enough information for suspension of disbelief and for the reader to come up with plausible explanations for things like these, but that's just my opinion

everyone has their own individual threshold for suspending disbelief, as well as their own sense of curiosity and desire to find answers within the general context provided. some (like me) are satisfied with inferring plausible explanations from the information given, rather than having every detail spelled out explicitly. some details being explicit are crucial to a good mystery but my impression is that this is not one of those details

>no one detecting the explosives in Umineko or any forensic evidence of the blast after the tragedy
