I never thought so. My interpretation is that because she enjoys encounters, it's more language of the competition. Not that it's a meaningless exchange, but just more intense than it might normally be. Also, I don't know Japanese, so I always assumed the translation could not retain the intended inflection of the text. I never got why pictures of Alice smiling were under 'Not Alice'. Like she can never be cheerful and friendly, because she is in solitude (and not even all of the time) . In 10.5/12.3 she will taunt quite a few characters in versus mode, but sometimes gives them backhanded compliments or considers a research aspect to the fight. Upon beating Marisa in 12.3 she talks about completing the ultimate doll and that all of the forest of magic will be hers. Just vicious banter. Though I've seen lots of artists portray her as cruel or with a mean-streak, I don't mind those either. Alice is Alice!
