Umineko was good untill the end. 1-4 was the mystery, 5-8 were NOT mystery but the story about the mystery. The mystery is solvavble and everything keeps to the theme of the series, LOVE. It's a beautiful story about people torn by fate and misfortune and, guess what, love. It's no masterpiece but it's pretty good.

I've read the question arcs, and in my opinion, it's nothing compared to Umineko. Umineko is fiercely convoluted and ridiculously over the top, but you know what? I actually adore it for that, and I wouldn't change it for anything. The question arcs for Higurashi were somewhat enthralling, but it only fully held my interest a few times. In fact, it took me until last month to fully finish the question arcs because I felt like there were problems with the pacing, and I didn't find certain plot points as interesting. In comparison, I finished the question arcs for Umineko in about a week.
