Mion certainly has tomboyish traits, the way the speaks and acts. But that's quite shallow. She maintains girly looks with long hair, likes girly things so much it's literally a fucking central plot point in Higurashi, and her interests aren't particularly boyish. Most of her masculine traits arise from her family obligations. In Shion's place, she would develop a completely feminine gender role like Shion. And in Mion's place, Shion would probably acquire similar tomboy traits Mion did, to cope with the family heir responsibilities and training.
