The most depressing part of all of this is that nothing is going to change. An e-celeb board has been one of the most requested things on this site for years but the shit eaters in charge would rather add seven new /v/ spinoffs than anything of any sort of substance. An e-celeb board would do substantially more than just help solve this problem right now, it'd help /v/, it'd help /a/, it'd help /tv/, it'd help /mu/, it'd help /r9k/, etc. etc. Mods just won't do it despite being such a popular request is because the fucking retards are part of the problem themselves. They're just as much as enamored by objectively off-topic bullshit (not only on /jp/, mind you) as the dumbasses who post them in the first place.

In addition, people need to stop acting like "oh you're just losing touhou threads and nothing else". Touhou threads are honestly some of the least worrying things about this, it's that legitimate generals for idol groups, seiyuu, game series, rhythm games, etc. are all too slow for the current state of /jp/ and simply can't survive without unnecessary bumps.
