This is not subjective. This is objective. Words mean what they're used for. Uses are not subjective. Subjective things are things that only have meaning when given a subject, not things whose meaning is determined by people. Language is an objective thing that's real, and that goes along with how people use its word. If anything, prescribing definitions like you're doing right now is what's subjective, because there's nothing at all that elevates prescriptive conceptions above what people objectively use the words for. Language is not definable, and what one person thinks something means does not determine how other people will validly use it. There's no reason to think that one person's subjective interpretation, the one that only holds meaning to them, is worth anything more than another person's objective interpretation, the meaning they give it when they say it. There's no entitential language with objective rules and concepts that lords over those who speak it. There are only personal languages, with the language entity being the common system among these personal languages. This language entity is what you mean when you say "standard English" or "standard Japanese", but there's no reason for a language entity to be considered objective, because it only has meaning when you give it its subject (the collection of people and communications that define its entitience). Rather, it's the personal languages themselves that are objective. They are the only thing you can describe with any certainty.
