thanks for the feedback. but i would argue that if you don't already know kana than you don't want to learn japanese.

also when you have no japanese experience studying grammar is useless as no matter how much you re read sentences you just wont get it. it takes expossure to the language to understand grammar. The point of skimming tae kim is to get a basic feel for sentence structure and to be able to understand what different types of words will look like not to learn any grammar.

also I said my reading guide is more of just a personal suggestion that I feel is a fairly natural way to progress in terms of difficulty and even said if you have a specific interest to just read that.
