Use photo editor(basically any is fine, gimp, krita, photoshop, whatever), fill the outer area with uniform color, select it, expand selection by however many pixels you need to fix edges, fill selection with black.
If the outer area is black already, just use levels > set blacks to start with brighter area. Picrelated.
