Nasu was still quite redundant when writing Fate, but he got a lot better at pacing than he was when he wrote Tsukihime. The details are spread out and combed over fairly evenly (though, being Nasu, it can still be long-winded at times) in Fate, whereas in Tsukihime, he basically just backs up a dump truck on you. It just happens that that dump truck's name is Arcueid.

Arcueid was my third route (after Ciel and Akiha) and I was expecting a lot of shenanigans and general silliness. Then Arc or Shiki would bring up vampires or their powers, which was akin to that flying little asshole robot in Mega Man 9 that picks you up and drags you into spikes.
