tails arent a good indicator of a foxes age anymore. fierce competition have culled the traditional 100 year per tail proto foxes from the general public. relegating them to reside mostly within the Hagville exclusion zone. most foxes nowadays are born with extra tails already grown and can potentially grow beyond the 9 tail limit. this is most likely a side effect of many Inari not releasing pent up mana during pregnancy. we can thank modern fluff consumption habits among males, keeping them plenty stimulated enough to keep up with their wives sex drive. modern estimates for tail growth are about 1 every 3 years in most cases. after acquiring their mana marker however, this growth can accelerate to be as low as 3 weeks per tail. more data is needed. but the MGC health board have quarantined districts with high mofu mana concentration where these new evolutions occur, even to the scientific community! damn bureaucrats...
