Arguing, whether on the internet or real life, is really simple to get right. Just follow these two steps.

1) Try to understand the other party's viewpoint instead of being hell-bent on disagreeing with them.
2) Find someone else capable of doing the same.

Unfortunately, dialogue takes two people. There's a limit how much one size can compensate for the other's faults. But good communication will arise from those starting points.
