I had to do a speach based around Samurai in High school. I included women Samurai and their naginata too. My teacher said it was certianly the most original speach she ever heard. That kind of pissed me off when she said that, since I tookbit as "Wow certianly the most nerdy weeboo speach I've ever heard.". Others asked me why I did Samurai and I replied that it was interesting and no one had done anything similar to it before. My entire city can't really get past the whole "It's not white culture? Why are you even doing this then?" mentality.
