If you're new to EoSD or Shmups in general, stage 3 is about the time where, if you develop your skill to look away from your character and move while watching enemy patterns, it becomes much easier.
Meiling, in my opinion, is a good example where she's pretty difficult if you aren't comfortable with moving around without looking at your sprite, especially her last spellcard.
Don't stress too hard anon. Just keep at it and you'll nail it.
