I don't know personally whether or not it works. Because I don't know whether the hsp files included with custom/g are loaded from the program or just included as source. But you're gay for posting samples, even if the only difference is reencoding to JPG.
Seeing as it's 1.87.1.3 in the image, and >>21060567 said it works with 1.88R, it probably works with any modern version of Custom-G within some threshold. Might be buggy for updating, might not be.

Is there any reason you don't want to update to 1.88(R) though?
