Essentially. 5-8 really overplayed the 'Magic is love' and downplayed the events of 1-4. Everyone forgave each other, at least in Battlers mind, but really if magic is real then magic is cruel. More cruel then if there is no magic.

I interpreted it as 'A solvable mystery occurred on Rokkijima. This was reveled to Ange. Even after she retained hope they her brother would come back, which he did. Then using the power of the Witch of Resurrection, she resurrected the Ushiromiya family at least in some "dimension"'. So it's a non-magic mystery which turns into fantasy after. Which I have reservations about.
