planeswalker cards are not creatures, but sort of like a back up player who has come to help you out. They come into play with a set number of 'loyalty' counters on them, which change depending on the ability you use. All planeswalkers tend to have 1 ultimate ability which in itself is incredibly broken if you ever manage to use it. If a planeswalker's loyalty ever hits zero, then they are discarded. The legend rule does not apply to planeswalkers, however you cannot have 2 planeswalker cards on the field with the same name. You can play multiple planeswalker cards otherwise.
