Riyu asks if Jessica's room can be opened with another key that's not a master key, which Kumasawa confirms is always either in Jessica's possession or in the bowl by her bed, when she notices a new letter at that location. Battler opens it and it says "Praise my name", which he immediately dismisses. Riyu curses himself for forgetting to check all of the hiding places of the room before they left, as now they're already gone. Eva says she trusts Battler, but that they should check to see if Jessica still has her key just in case. Battler understands and empties his pockets, revealing all he has on him is Maria's charm. Maria is grateful that he treasures the charm and explains that's why he's still safe, to which Battler responds stating that's why the witch never showed herself to him.
