wig sizes are typically measured separately from scale (which is already ambiguous for weeb dolls)
for example, all APs have the same body, but some wear 6-7" wigs (more realistic proportions) others (Ellie/Elles) wear 8-9" (more anime)
DD/MDDs are in the 8-9" range
also you aren't the only one who got a doll with sizable hips as a "secondary" feature — older pic but shows it well
