Under Members have their own lives, their own appearances on some shows, not to mention always getting a MV each single (in addition to stuff like the, albeit short, documentary on the 16th). Also the Cinq Étoiles sub-unit for example. Many of them do well enough at HS, so they must have fans.

As for 3rd gen they had their omitatekai, appearance on AKB SHOW!, the rotating blog updates, and a healthy doze of outside work. We'll have to see how management handles it. In my opinion they already screwed up with Ozono Momoko, but who knows. Hopefully their own song and MV on the next single.
