You shouldn't need to "escape" ever. You only need to move behind the frontline. If you find yourself the need to "escape", that means you're overextending too much (either by yourself or with a portion of your team), and you deserve to die.

Regardless, LazFlamme has a really terrible BD in terms of stats, you only play her if you are a masochist or really love her. You're better off with an Accel Saber really. I personally prefer parts with good looks, so I don't recommend you to use my parts. Just focus on giving her high WLK/TEC, prioritizing WLK and play her like a LND gunner.

Depending on your style, you can choose custom mag or bazookas for weapon, but I personally recommend raid/assault rifle, or scouter rifle. Kamui staff is a good sub weapon even if you have low strength, as it can lock opponents with flinches and can easily counter hoppers, low flyers, arts and other melee with its long reach.

You can make her hop if you want, but personally I don't do it --- rather, I don't need it. You can either pick a short pair of LGs to reduce your hitbox, or a tall pair of LGs to increase your height (which gives you a better firing angle).

It helps to have better gears, but it doesn't really matter that much unless you're up against EVE or Vanguard Fencers.

Heck, I use a fully tuned and leveled Lazflamme and she still barely matches a store brought, untuned, lv 0 Accel Saber in terms of stats, and I am still doing pretty damn well in arena. You can easily grab an Accel Saber (16k UC at the store) and be on the equal playing field with me right off the bat. (Note: Store brought Accel Saber has an extra empty HD slot, you can put on another HD to increase your stats even further)

tl;dr Skills > Bot, but of course, Skills + Bot > Bot or Skills alone
