I think it takes place in a town with a local god that wants female sacrifices
Now the ones in the blue uniforms were students who got killed in a landslide several years in the past, trapping their souls. Sora’s ghost wanted friends and thus started haunting the area, including the present day school, who wear the white uniforms
Miko wasn’t there and tried to break the curse until adulthood but died of sickness in the present day before she could do it and is also trapped
The character in the shorts may or may not be possessed by the good side of Sora, prompting the evil side to do spooky stuff

The character in the game is a reporter that predictably gets trapped in the school with the ghost that wants to kill him
