Considering that it's just being spammed and intentionally trying to rile up the BM fanbase with BITTAA comments, and has nothing to do with BM/SG, you're probably right. Rule #6.

Posting it once or twice is fine and so is having a normal discussion about it but shit like:

is not quality posting.

Metal is more than just Slayer, friend, and there are different singing styles. Someone who sings for an opera doesn't sound the same as someone who sings jazz.

Well, no.
-There is no metal-revival trend going and metal hasn't been popular in the mainstream in about a decade and a half. So they're not hopping on any bandwagon.

-Babymetal aren't really copying the metal fashion style. Moa, Yui and Su aren't dressed in corpse-paint looking like Immortal or Gorgoroth. They have a few studs here and there but they're still extremely feminine, so it's more a mix of things. Also they're playing the music. They're only two degrees of separation away from Megadeth via Takayoshi Ohmura, that's about as legitimate as a band can get.

-Finally, they're not making the genre more commercially accessible. They're not sacrificing any metal to make room for pop, it's all a perfect balancing act. Anyone who's seen them live knows that it's a metal show from start to finish. Plus on paper there's no way that any of it should have worked. It seemed like mixing toothpaste and orange juice but it ended up being hot peppers and ice cream or PB & J.

That's also a big part of it, but not always the case. It's more about going soft and trying to appeal to the top 40 trends.

When Slayer signed their first major record deal and were set to become popular. people were understandably worried that they would end up sounding like watered down cock-rock, but it ended up being their heaviest album ever at the time, and arguably ever. People still consider them the greatest of greats.

I said that was part of it, yes. The overwhelming majority of idols don't have a band, and IF they do, they're tucked off in a corner out of sight and they certainly don't have their bands bust out guitar/drum/bass solos

>Besides, Momoclo had a band for their live shows last time I checked.

If they do, it's very well hidden here.

and there.

But like I've said before, that's part of it. It's more importantly the whole squeaky-clean innocent & kawaii image that they have manufactured for them and it's also whether or not they associate with being part of the idol scene, which they don't.

Kobametal said himself that he doesn't want to be part of the idol scene, and they're not sharing stages with Sakura Gakuin or any other idol group.

Their music is part j-pop of course, but there's virtually nothing "idol" about them anymore

>What babymetal NEED is more exposure for them to non babymetal fans in the west

They're doing that right now with all the festivals.

The fact that they're barely a couple of years old as a real live band and that they're selling out completely solo shows is a amazing, they're more in a position of power and influence over the western metal market, especially with all the attention that ever metal magazine & blog gives to them. Established, veterans bands still have trouble filling seats when touring with 4 or 5 other bands in the same venues that Babymetal plays or even smaller. Babymetal outsold Marilyn Manson in New York just as a random example.

Koba has already said that Babymetal's popularity has exceeded his expectations by leaps and bounds, they don't NEED anything really. Of course extra exposure would be nice, I could see them being a musical guest on a TV show like Conan or something but as far as musical collaborations go I can't think of any band that would fit in with their style. The Dragonforce collaboration was a way for Dragonforce to get more exposure & popularity, not the other way around.

Most metal bands that are still popular and relevant as much as they ever were are too far up their own ass to collaborate with Babymetal I'd think.

I don't know, maybe something with Slayer would be hilarious and controversial for kvlt metal nerds, as well as sounding good.

Oh right, they are from Fish & Chips Land, I guess that also explains why they chose to debut that song in England.

They were there because Babymetal was formed in an idol group that was nothing but little girls, even with the older girls Su was the only one who could really carry a tune.

They're mostly just there as backup dancers, sure their earlier songs with them as backup singers is sometimes like listening to a screeching cat dragging chalk down a blackboard, but in the years since then they've actually become better singers and thank god they sound nothing live like what they do on the studio songs from 4 years ago.

They even have a couple of songs with just the two of them.

And the lead singer has a couple of songs without the two girls. If you watch their recent live DVD/BluRay and watch their earlier performances when it was all done through playback the difference is night and day.

>From a technical perspective, they fail at metal in every aspect

Then how come they successfully played the biggest metal festivals in the world and all of the Big 4 have supported them?
