Doesn't really count, but this movie about prison life in japan is surprisingly atmospheric. Here are some meal scenes that really capture it.

I know movie != real prison, even if it was based on the author's own experiences. But seeing this makes me wonder if low security prisoners in nipland live more fulfilling lives than your average hikki. They look like they eat better at least.
