ITT: Visual Novels that people will remember 60 years from now

Inb4 a wave of self-important, asspained autists flaming you for liking their hobby.

Check out Saya no Uta, Yume miru kusuri, Kana Little sister, and MuvLuv. They are pretty entry level but are very, very good.

I just finished this VN, and I'm impressed by the great quality of the story. It's dark and depressing though, but I still like it.

/jp/ recommend me some good VNs, anything from lighthearted to grimdark is fine.

I've been trying to intsall Saya No Uta from here: http://erogedownload.com/downloads/saya-no-uta/

for the last 8 hours. There has got to be an easier way!

-Download 7-zip, and Daemon tools.
-Proceed to download first file.
-Extract files to new folder in user\documents\my games under the name Saya

-Create disc image from sayanouta.img, add SCSI virtual drive and mount it there.
-click, window comes up, I click GAME INSTALL and nothing happens.

Help please?

Survival horror in VN's, anyone seen it done effectively? Anyone have any ideas on how it could be done well?

I have an idea for a VN that basically boils down to a doctor being chased around by a monster in a hospital in the middle of the night, but I'm not sure the VN methodology could work for it. Figured /jp/ might have some ideas.

So this is the first vn/h-game I have ever played, and I just finished it.
Loved it.
Can /jp/ recommend any others similar or perhaps post an image guide for recommended vn's, I think I have seen it before.

There was a thread up yesterday about Saya no Uta and a rumor that the Japanese publisher was not licensing it to JAST USA for localization to english due to the main female heroine being under-age.

Setting aside the absurdity of it all, It got me thinking about specific cases in anime, manga, and VN's that don't really fit into a neat little 'age of consent' box. So far, I've been able to come up with three such cases that come immediately to mind. Yuki of "Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya", Rika of "Higurashi", and, of course, Saya.

The idea here being that these characters 'ages' do not fit the conventional definitions, and therefore lie outside the realm of "Age of Consent" as it is understood today.

Any of you import eroge? I was thinking of buying a few of the good ones I've played (pic related) but was worried about customs checking them and getting busted. I'm from the UK btw.

Sup /jp/, trying to get this thing to work but the game's stuck at a black screen after the health hazards warnings. Got Japanese and all of that shit, so I take it I'm missing some technical codec things... I got ffdshow and updated directx... what else might it be?

I installed this with the English patch and I get a black screen... I believe I installed correctly and said copy works, so what gives?

In other words what do VNs like, require, that I might not have installed?

Hello, /jp/. Just downloaded the game in the picture. It's my first visual novel, and I'm really enjoying it so far. I was wondering, how do I save? I don't see any prompts on the screen. I've gotten up to the first time I have to make a decision and I want to save first so I can play out both routes without clicking through the entire first part.

Please link me to a translation patch (just a translation patch;not the game too) for Saya no Uta.

Ok /jp/, I just got all 3 endings (which I have dubbed, in order: White, Red, and Black; I'm sure you can guess which is which) of Saya no Uta. According to a friend who frequents this place, you guys consider it to be babby's first VN. So does anyone want to tell me what to make of what I just witnessed?

Sup /jp/. What to expect? A friend recommended it to me, saying it's "Fucked Up." Is it? I'm fairly new to Eroge, having only played Yume Miru Kusuri: A Drug That Makes You Dream and Moero Downhill Night.

can you recommend me a good horror visual novel aside from Saya no Uta? SnU was my first Visual Novel so far and it was great, the story is just awesome (altough its not quite SFW) and the horror elements were great.
I'm happy about every recommend of a good horror VN, especially if it could shiver me down to the spine

Well... it wasn't as good as I thought it would be.

So I just spent the last 5-6 hours reading Saya no Uta.
Wow that was really fucking good.
Favorite scene in the VN is probably Fuminori in the hospital where he first meets Saya

I feel the VN was strongest and at its best right up to and through the first ending. It did pick up again when Kouji got rescued but it lost something along the way.

Also, I have some questions.

How did Fuminori's brain become what it was? What happened to Saya's father? And how did Saya become what she was?
