And force someone with potentially amazing ideas on how to use say, Sanae's power, job, outside world origin to write for somebody else like one of the pc98hus? Even if the author doesn't know the first thing about old games? Or a better example, Sumireko. She has dialogue, it's even getting translated. So what if it's uber shit that imposes it's own lore on the rest of the game and is likely to be the only dialogue hidden for majority of players, she has dialogue so people should focus on everyone else first. See where I'm heading with this?

Nah don't worry about it, write for your favourite hu all you want. And don't be afraid to write for hypothetical situations, unused text takes up little space and maybe a year down the line you would inspire someone to actually implement something new. Like confessions while you have a lover already for example, that wasn't intended but is still very cool.

I think you're putting too little faith in the new blood. Not all of them treat this series like a fad or are in it for the "memes". Some are willing to engage in meaningful discussion and even encourage OC in the year of our lord 2021, but they are obviously drowned out by the louder, obnoxious crowd.
Granted I tend to avoid obvious lewd/imagedumping threads if those are what you're referring to.
