I wouldn't disagree with him that mecha's general popularity is on the decline, moreso his argument for why, because it's really dumb to claim only FranXX/TTGL/Eva/CG are "about the characters" and everything else isn't.
That being said, there's a pretty decent amount of /m/ material coming out next year between the stuff in pic, the last batch of Fafner The Beyond episodes, an adaptation of Mecha Musashi, and new originals Sacks & Guns!!, Back Arrow, and Rescue Academia
