I was tasked to take care of a parakeet for a week or so while it switched owners. Keeping my cats away from it was a pain. While they never knocked it over, I'd get cases where I'd leave the door open and come back to several of them intently sitting next to the cage staring at the bird. The bird was nice for the first or so, then suddenly became very noisy suddenly.

I don't personally take to birds, though I like the way they look, I've just been bitten by too many to care to keep them as pets.
