It was pretty rampant back in spring '13 or something. Extensive testing on sinking mechanics being done only after the game's been around for more than 3 months still tells you that all the players back then missed something. Not to mention that when anyone asked about sinking mechanics, the tutorial was never once mentioned.

And testing would have been simpler and its results more well-known if those who tested it actually read the tutorial to begin with.
