I don't know about you, but I'm willing to ignore the stuff KC says when it's plain bullshit.
If we really wanted, we could look at the inspiration of the MGE sandworm, and see how Frank Herbert decided his would work. It doesn't look all that different from an earthworm's anatomy, really.

Instead of one huge chamber, a series of connected cavities which can expand and contract might work. I don't expect to go inside a sandworm, and be able to walk around in an area the size of a house, anyway. Maybe one "room" big enough to stand in near the entrance, and another further down, but every other cavity would probably be much smaller. I kind of like the idea of sleeping within a sandworm in an area the size of a capsule hotel room, anyway.
