Who cares? I think those who enjoy otaku things have already given up on being successful in the traditional sense, and acknowledge their immaturity. I don't think I'm experiencing the greatness of human culture by masturbating to my touhou doujin. Because society has rejected me I'm not going to try anymore. And it's not like by reading novels I'll be able to become socially competent.

There seem to be some people out there who can do both, but either they're pretending or they are geniuses of some sort.
