Yagasaki, LOVE STORY
Here we go again.

"This is bullshit." was my initial reaction. But then I had to call it a night in the middle of Yagasaki self-immolating, and after sleeping on it, yeah, it actually made perfect sense. Even assuming some level of quantum fuckery I can't say the other route didn't lay the groundwork for it. So nice. The only plot point that I still don't understand even after finsihing everything is Ainiwa's motivation for prostituting Teppei. It didn't seem like he bears any grudge against him for indirectly ruining his life, so why? And why was he allowed to kidnap a participant when there were still two days left? Of course they wouldn't have anything against it -during the day-, but being on whore duty sounds like a very flimsy reason for absention. They take this seriously enough that they'll foot the hospital bills if that's what it takes to keep a participant from needlessly prematurely biting the bullet so that they can kick him back in the cage, they'll happily go on a car chase lasting hours or raid Disneyland for an escapee, but they'll shrug and say "oh well sexual slavery is more important, you have our blessing to quit now"?
By the way Yagasaki also falls in the same category as Nitta in that his routes were clearly structured with a very specific play order in mind, unlike Yoshimoto and Kujo whose routes really can be played in any order without it affecting enjoyment. Is this because L&D has two writers? There are other marked differnces between the way Nitta/Yagasaki and Yoshimoto/Kujo were written, style, structure, and all. Or I could be totally wrong about this and it's only a coincidence. But it's also interesting how disproportionately more CGs Yagasaki and Nitta have compared to the other two. Like about twice in Nitta's case, and almost thrice in Yagasaki's. That's without counting LET'S CARNAVALE for Kujo though, becasue LET'S CARNAVALE doesn't count.

All in all I am happy with this as my final Open route. It was a fun ride.
