Reimu was leaning against the wall with her arms crossed, but she raised a finger to her mouth and chewed on the nail for a moment. “…Home. I don’t have the supplies for another sick person along with both of us.” She shrugged. “Marisa’s survived off random mushrooms and enough salt to kill a grown man for years, so I doubt she’ll die any time soon. Once the storm passes, you can bring her back and we’ll go through everything that happened.” Reimu sounded very decisive. I supposed that that was what I was missing.

I wasn’t missing the sheen of sweat on her forehead, though. Clearly the exertion had been more than she could handle.

Miss Tenshi shrugged, then gently lifted Marisa from the bed as if she was incredibly delicate. “In the Forest of Magic, right?” Reimu nodded. “Alright, we’ll see you in a few days, then.” I thanked Miss Tenshi for everything she had done, then asked her to thank Marisa as well. Miss Tenshi smiled. “Wouldn’t be very celestial-like of me to ignore you, would it?” She stepped outside, and I could see a keystone hovering in the grey light beyond the veranda. In a moment, the two had disappeared.
Reimu sighed heavily, trying to push herself off of the wall but clearly struggling. I reached out, sliding my hands around her waist just in time for her legs to give out. She sagged in my arms, to the point that my hands slid up her waist until I had my hands wrapped around her back and under her armpits. “I thought I was fine now.” She mumbled in annoyance. “What the hell did that spider hit me with?” I didn’t know, not properly. Yamame had said it was just a fever, but the weakness seemed to be hitting her far too hard for that.

I pulled Reimu’s arm over my shoulder so I could support her back to her own room. I kicked the sliding door shut behind me, then pulled the door to Reimu’s room open and dragged her inside. I was relieved to see that Reimu’s spurt of energy had allowed her to tidy the room somewhat, though the pair of futons on the floor were still unmade and messy. Either way, I turned to Reimu and gently slid her detached sleeves off. She let me pull the bow out of her hair and slide the hair ribbons free, and I ran a hand through her hair to get it to fall back into its normal look. She shivered slightly, so I decided that I’d better get her into bed as soon as possible.

I managed to get her to lift her arms, and I pulled her vest off, leaving her in her sleeveless top and skirt. “Skirt.” She mumbled. I wrapped an arm around her back just in case she fell, then fumbled with the clip of her skirt until it came loose, falling away from her in a heap. Now, it was just the shirt and the bloomers, but Reimu looked like she was about to fall over, so I pulled her into the futon and sat her down. I undid the buttons quickly, trying not to think about how badly my last attempt at undoing the buttons of a shirt had gone. Fortunately, I experienced no panic attacks this time, and the shirt came open quickly. I slid it off of her shoulders, though the awkward angle forced me to lean in close enough to Reimu that I felt my cheek brush against her clavicle, and she let out another shiver. Finally, I’d gotten the shirt off, so I laid her down, trying not to look at her bare chest too much, and stripped my own shirt off. I laid down next to her, and she pulled my arms until they were wrapped around her. Her chest pressed into me, and I tried not to take note of the way I could feel each time she breathed in and out. She scooted her legs closer, so she could wrap them around mine, trapping my leg under her thigh.

From there, it took her about a minute to fall asleep, and it took me no time at all to follow suit.
